If I apply, am I guaranteed selection and funding?

In what language are courses taught at universities abroad?
Courses are taught in the official language of the country where the respective university is located. For example, in Spanish universities, courses are taught in Spanish, in Portuguese universities in Portuguese, and so on.

But I only speak English. Does this mean I can’t move?
Universities with Erasmus agreements are obliged to accept Erasmus students and provide them with course instruction in their official language. Some universities organize extra courses in English exclusively for foreign language students, but this is not mandatory.

How do I find out if there are extra courses in English at the university I am interested in transferring to?

You can search on the website of the university you’re interested in moving to, or directly contact the Erasmus office or Department/School of the university for information.

Are the courses I see on the website of the university I am interested in transferring to taught in both the fall and spring semesters?
No, courses are typically offered either in the winter or spring semester, similar to our university.

How many courses should I choose? You should choose courses that will accumulate at least 30 ECTS.

When I move to the university abroad I will be in the Nth semester of my studies, should I choose only the Nth semester courses?

No, you can choose courses from any semester. Each university has its own curriculum, so students create their own schedule based on their academic needs and the courses available.

What should I do if the courses I find with a match are less than 30 ECTS?
You can also choose courses without correspondence to accumulate at least 30 ECTS.

Is there a limit on the number of corresponding courses I will have to take?

The minimum limit is determined by the Erasmus office. For more details, please contact the office directly. Typically, scripts with at least one corresponding course are acceptable.

What about the exam scores of the courses I choose and take at the university I am transferring to?
Grades for matched courses, if transferable, will be transferred to the corresponding courses in the departmental curriculum. For non-matching courses, there will be a relevant reference in the diploma annex stating that the student has successfully completed such and such courses at the respective university.

Is there a minimum number of courses I will need to successfully complete at the university I am transferring to?

Can I do my diploma thesis through Erasmus?
Yes, but only if there is a relevant provision for a diploma thesis in the study program of the university you are moving to, the thesis at the foreign university has 30 ECTS, and you meet the department’s criteria for preparing a diploma thesis.

Can I pursue my diploma thesis simultaneously with my Erasmus travel? If you meet the requirements for preparing a thesis according to the department’s criteria and wish to work on your thesis abroad while participating in the Erasmus program, you should first find a supervisor from our Department. Together, you will determine all the details of the diploma implementation, including collaboration with the foreign institution.
