Andreas Calatzis is a serial entrepreneur from the area of in vitro diagnostics. During his medical studies in Munich, Germany, he developed a widely used blood coagulation analyzer (ROTEM analyzer), which he sold to a Swiss biomedical company (Pentapharm). He later moved on to develop 2 more blood coagulation analyzers (Multiplate / ClotPro), which were acquired by Roche Diagnostics (Switzerland) and Haemonetics (USA). Following these acquisitions he worked 5 years for Roche as a project leader and 3 years for Haemonetics as a Vice President in R&D. He is a coinventor of 12 international patents. He has medical degree and doctorate from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and worked 10 years part time at the department of transfusion medicine and haemostasis of the clinic of Munich University (LMU).
